Introduction

Goods and Services Tax, takes effect from 1st April, 2015, is now chargeable on all taxable goods and services, and on all GST-registered businessmen in Malaysia, except those who are exempted. GST, a consumption tax, is made in multi-stages on all intermediaries in the production and distribution processes. GST nevertheless affect all the fringe benefits that are often made available to all the employees. Owners and HR Managers must learn how GST can make difficult their collective bargaining with their employees or trade unions. Soon, these companies’ cost of running their businesses will inflate with the input and output taxes. Inevitably, the owners and HR Managers will soon have to negotiate these fringe benefits in a new collective agreement.


Objectives
Upon completion of the programme, the participants will be able to:
  • Study in details the guideline on the Fringe Benefits introduced by Jabatan Kastam Di-Raja Malaysia
  • Check & Highlight on those Guidelines that likely to affect all HR managers’ power to collective bargaining
  • Familiarize and learn the GST from experiences
