Relevant Expertise and Work Experience
Mr. Agee Lee has more than 22 years of experience in commercial banking in Malaysia and has worked in Malayan Banking Berhad and seconded to Kwong Yik Bank Berhad.

He also worked in a property development company for 2 years, and involved in a manufacturing company before working for 2 years in a construction company in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

After graduating from University of Malaya, Agee started as an apprentice-bank officer in a rural branch of Malayan Banking Berhad and, within 1 year, became the Assistant Branch Manager. He was promoted to Branch Manager of a small branch in Subang, and again was transferred to KL Main Branch.

Agee, after having turned down an offer to move to a London Branch, instead accepted the posting to Kwong Yik Bank Berhad’s Documentation Section of the Loans Department. He was tasked to look into the Collection Procedure and Reviewing of AA of the various lending products, appraising the panels of solicitors, valuers and auctioneers, standardising on the lending criteria and legal documents on securing loans, and other specific assignments instructed. He was again promoted to Loan Manager, responsible for marketing and approving commercial and corporate loans, setting budgets on loans growth for Branches and executing the power of attorney granted.

In 1990, he assisted his friends to set up a Credit and Leasing Company and was responsible to establish lending criteria, standardisation of Leasing Agreement, Hire-Purchase Agreement, Loan Agreement and Letter of Guarantee, implementation of procedure on reviewing, approving and collecting of these products, marketing for consumers and seeking financing from banks.

Agee was again drafted by his friend to assist in the development of a condominium in Seremban and terraced factories in Nilai 3 for two years. He was also involved in the financial planning business for eight months and also acted as an advisor to a manufacturing unit.

Agee then moved to work for a Construction Company in Kota Kinabalu. Besides assisting the Managing Director in overseeing these jobs, he was responsible for raising banking facilities to finance these government contracts on roads, schools, colleges and remedial of slope failures. Another task assigned was to carry out feasibility study on viability on the numerous infrastructures on water dam and power dam and others, and he sees that these Reports go to the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister Department.

His last appointment was with Hong Leong Bank Berhad in 2003/4 as Head of Remedial Management Department, of which these comprises commercial and corporate loans, factoring, leasing, industrial hire-purchase and housing loans.

He is now appointed as Training Consultant for IBBM, MIA and Banks in Malaysia and Vietnam. Currently he has been giving talks on practical topics that will boost skills and confidence of participants.

Agee also works on a part-time basis as an Advisor to a Senior Partner of a law firm in Kuala Lumpur; mainly providing advices on banking matters, management issues and receivership, which at the same time, besides honing on his skills with latest legal issues, was able to carry researches on his pet subjects.
